Having worked within a London practice in the late 1980’s Robert joined Downer Duff in 1992 with the primary role to build the firm’s agency business, at that time around Milton Keynes, with special emphasis on the industrial and office sectors. Since changing its name to Douglas Duff the Agency Team is now one of the largest and most successful in the region with Robert being directly involved in a range of significant transactions. These include individual industrial disposals in Milton Keynes in excess of 350,000 sq ft.
Within the office sector Robert has been at the forefront of many key transactions in recent years. In 2009 he acted on behalf of one of Milton Keynes’ largest employers, Shaw Energy & Chemicals Group, in negotiating and completing Milton Keynes’ largest office transaction for the previous ten years, in taking an assignment of BP’s lease on Witan Gate House, a landmark office building of circa 143,000 sq ft in Central Milton Keynes. Prior to this in 2007 Robert agreed pre-lets on 50,000 sq ft comprising the first phase of offices within the well known Hub development in Central Milton Keynes.
Robert has been a Director of the business since 1997 and, combined with his agency related activities, now also provides corporate consultancy advice specifically concentrating on the logistics sector with a UK wide brief. He has been particularly active in the West Midlands recently with both disposals and acquisition work in excess of 200,000 sq ft and current projects in 2010 include a warehouse acquisition in the north west approaching half a million sq ft.
