Paradigm moves into new premises.
Steady growth in all its core sectors during 2011 has resulted in Paradigm Audio Visual ending the year with a short move from its Bedford base to vastly expanded facilities on a modern industrial estate.
Douglas Duff''s Bedford office helped them find the ideal site at Unit 9, St Martin's Business Centre which is on the Cambridge Road Industrial Estate.
“With over 10,000 sq ft at our disposal this gives us between two and three times the capacity we had at Swan Works,” states founder and CEO Greg Jeffreys. “We are replacing the quaintness and quirkiness of a former laundry with an open plan scenario, which will enable us to build infrastructure to support the growth.”
The move has largely been brought about by the increase in simulation business — which now operates as a separate division. Paradigm creates simulators for many sectors including vehicle driving, manoeuvring cranes and even chemical laboratory work, which are used mainly for training purposes being both a cheaper and safer solution.
“We needed an expanded demo and proof-of concept areas, which we now have,” continues Jeffreys. “At the same time the move coincides with a substantial investment in infrastructure, such as advanced server virtualisation.”
The enlarged real estate, which will also contain offices and warehouse, will also enable Paradigm to develop its panel mount business for plasmas and LCD’s and give an increased level of support to its distributed brands.
“After 20 years in business we had come to the realisation that the Swan Works, funky as it was, had been holding the business back. It’s nice to have a car park and more conventional facilities at our disposal,’ summarised Mr Jeffreys. At the moment Paradigm AV employs 15 people and expects the number to grow.
Andrew Clarke, Director of Douglas Duff says that the letting of Unit 9 to Paradigm leaves just one available at St Martin's Business Centre. Unit 8 offers 10,302 square feet.
